Saturday 8/25, about 1330, a pair of V-22's flying West over Sammamish maybe 2500' AGL heading roughly towards Boeing Field.
Pretty rare site around these parts, and yes, they do sound very strange.

Saw them eastbound earlier in the day, eastern PierceCo. Went through the plume of a wildfire, not the most brilliant routing.

They must be touring the state. I saw a pair today fly over Appleton, WA in Klickitat County today. They were going due west about 2500' above the ground here also. They are surprisingly quiet.
