I have a portable scanner and the make is not the problem, It's codes
I like to here the police and fire calls.
Many years ago when I had other scanners. On Police calls you would here them run ID checks and use the name of person, type of car and so on. I have the Liens and car to cars, but I was wondering if they have a new code for ID checks and car registrations?
I would aprecate any info. on this topic. :nobs: PLEASE

It depends on the area that you live in some of them move this off to a data channel like Everett Police, will move it off to there data channel and this stuff you can hear over the air, most police cars now days have computers and can run there own checks with out tying up the air, or giving out personal info. And don't forget Nextel or the Cell phone are used allot. the police are well aware of us scanner listeners and the fact that most of the stuff can be heard over a cell phone with a app installed on it.
