Sounds like you have the beginning of some great times. You'll have to get away from the pay campgrounds and strike out on your own. Here's where I'm camping right now. Not bad radio reception!.....:)

Interesting...is that your own design or is there some plans? I've wanted to make a little portable camping hut like that, but I am not a good enough craftsman to make it work right lol.

It's my own design, but was easy to build. I used 1 1/4 aluminum tubing that I had left over from an antenna project. Joints and heavy duty tarp came from a place in Springfield Oregon. It all fits in a ski bag and nylon tote bag.

Wood stove I bought off e-bay. It's nice having a shelter that will hold up in heavy snow/wind. I've had it up in E.WA in 60 mph winds with no problem. I'm sitting mountain side on Mt Pilchuck right now watching the Olympics. Not a bad view today!....:)

That's a cool pic, I've parked on the Olympics (above Hamma Hamma) and looked eastward. On a clear day one can see Baker to Rainier, plus all the Sound between.

Bump,

I will be camping up in your neck of the woods this weekend Jim, Lynden most of the time will be sitting on my butt last week I was standing on a plate forum at work and due to poor workmanship the plate forum broke sending me on a 6 foot plus fall landed on a power cart broke a few ribs, we made reservations a while ago at the KOA there or I would not even go, cant get my money back from them, so a camping, I will go we had a lot of big plans, the water park the boarder is fun to walk around, just have to see what I can do when I get there, everything but the food is loaded. the older you get the slower you heal being that I am almost 50 I think it will take a week or two before I am back up to speed, should still have some fun I will bring along my 500 maybe the 600 the laptop for sure GMARS radios to keep track of everyone and a ton of DVDS and lets not forget the beer.
