Take away the felony w/ firearm, this is sorta funny;
(Vehicle later recovered minus one stereo)

Spokane police are looking for two men who carjacked a Mitsubishi Lancer at a restaurant drive-through lane early Monday morning.

The pair, described as large, bald white men, were waiting at the McDonald’s at 909 W. Indiana Ave. about 3 a.m. when the Mitsubishi, occupied by two other men, pulled in behind playing loud music, police said.

One of the men yelled at the occupants of the Mitsubishi to turn the music down. The occupants of the Mitsubishi got out and confronted the other men.

The men, one of whom had a handgun, got out of their vehicle and approached the victims, who retreated back into the Mitsubishi. The men ordered the victims out of the car before driving off – one in the first vehicle and one in the victims’ vehicle.

The stolen car, a gray 2002 four-door sedan, has a Washington license plate number 318TDF.

Sounds like they won't be playing any loud music for a while. :bowrofl:

So I have this theory on jamming these punks with loud stereos:

I learned that ICOM 706 line gets erratic when operating 20M at full power, with remote kit installed.
In some installations, the radio will shut down or oscillate in these conditions.
(The fix is to run remote cable through ferrites to filter RF)

So my thought is, if 100W @20M will get into the remote cable (when no ferrites are installed) wouldn't it stand to reason that, up close, we could accomplish the same with that punk's stereo?

So far I have not had a chance to test this theory...
(Although I have had intermittent - and unintentional - success with 2M and car alarms...)

Years ago when I lived in an apartment the guy in the next one over would come home at about 2:30am and turn on his stereo. I could hear the bass pounding away on the wall and vibrating everything in my apartment.

One night when this happened I figured out that the stereo was tuned to the local FM rock station. I had purchased a FM wireless mic while I was in the service stationed in Japan. I turned on the mic and tuned it until I could tell it was on the same frequency as the rock station because the sound from the other apartment went way down. I heard the guy try to turn up the volume. Right then I said as loud as I could in the mic "TURN THIS DAMN THING DOWN!!!"

It worked and I never had anymore problem with loud stereos form him again.
The guy probably had to replace his blown speakers and go and change his pants. :D
