It's on a shared circuit that is very near capacity.

thats what I wondered, if you are pushing limits of a service remember that that is only a rated number, if its not specifically built for a purpose (dorm room/old seattle house) if you are pushing something like that to math numbers you should invest in a clamp and find your real numbers

if its in a shared space where you pay per watt then time to look at virtual!

Putting my own server in a colo is cheaper than paying someone for a dedicated server.

Not quite like that; more like average current usage. When I put the current box in there we tested the "average" usage with my Kill-A-Watt and went with that. So long as we're not tripping the breaker (did that a couple of days ago) it's fine.
And for the amount I pay, it's a really good deal for a spot in the Westin Building.

Replacement mobo #1 arrived today, and there's a new driver on my UPS route.

Same issue as the one I sent to Intel last week: plug everything in and turn it on and no video comes out.

FWIW I'm using this board. Tried 6 sticks of RAM (as well as no RAM), 3 PSUs, 3 monitors, and a CMOS reset on both boards. Intel support opens in T - 13 hours, and they're going to be hearing from me then.
