Jim wrote: What happens if it rains? :D Theres a 3 foot circle drawn on the ground in front of her. Once 5 drops of rain land in the circle they pack up and go home! :D Otherwise they use the same method that my aerostar vans do. You hope the door over your head stays up in the wind. |

KE7JFF wrote: Do I see Analog W9 Spectra Control Heads? :P good catch! :D I originally thought they were Maratrac's as the Spectra never came as a lowband model. The JPS Ratheon unit below the radios debuted at IWCE in 2009 if I have my JPS products correct. Obviously interoperability would dictate the need for other bands. The PM1200 was not out yet and CDM only came as a 60 watt radio so Kenwoods were chosen. Even today with the PM1200 being a re-badged Vertex I wonder if the CHP would touch it. |

Primary (Vhf Lo Band) Radios will be set to operate in the 39 - 46 Mhz band. ( 42 Mhz input -- 39 mhz, 44 + 45 Mhz output / base ). Units will have radios to communicate on all bands - ( VHF Hi band, UHF 450-512 Mhz - Yes the extended UHF TV band, as well as 700 & 800 mhz bands ) In certain County areas -- ie San Diego County -- local CHP dispatch / operations may take place on the local Unified trunked radio system (700 + 800 Mhz P25) as well as low band -- or in place of low band. |
