Motorola system ID's are usually in the format of something like "7Axx" for example But is it possible for them to be in any other format such as only 3 digits and no letters? |

3 digits or characters would be a P25 system. Like the new WSP 700 system is now 9CC. 4 digits are the older analog/digital systems. |

So that would be only a fully P25 system? Because i understand that some Motorola analog/type 2 or whatever systems can have P25 capable talkgroups on them Whats happening is i am receiving a weak Mot control channel and when i sit on the control channel to try and get a system ID it just reads "ID: xxx " Whereas usually when a system ID is decoded it will show "SID:xxxx" so i am also thinking this could be some type of error due to the weak signal |

Exactly, here in MA we have One Network, with the ole Type II running as 0D14 and the P25 running as D14 0D14 is analog with a few P25 TG's which are allowed on only a handfull of Talk Paths dste wrote: 3 digits or characters would be a P25 system. The three digit hex System ID's are usually assigned to true P25 systems using a P25 9600 baud control channel. The four digit System ID's are assigned to Motorola systems. They may have some digital talk groups but are not broadcasting a true P-25 control channel. Harris system P-25 ID's are three digits as well, but are often not unique. They seem to use a default system ID of 00A a lot, but with different WACN. -CP |

Makes sense - must have been some type of error due to the weak signal Thanks |
