Who is the new user in town. Heard over the last three weeks in the Queen Anne, downtown area and then today heard the signal loud and clear above the Hood Canal Bridge. Uses speech inversion. Been so long since I used my converter I can't find it...

Mark, if you have a wideband receiver with SSB, try listening to 43.04 in LSB... and then play with the passband shift settings...

Licensed owners:

1 WPMC297 SCARSELLA BROS INC
2 WPRJ285 PACCAR INC

4 WQHH953 T-Mobile License LLC
5 WQKJ372 4 X 4 Rescue Council, Inc

3 WQGL775 Dickinson, Douglas R
6 WQSB766 Charity Communications Foundation

The first two are probably not it. Low power and location reasons.

Could be #4 and #5 due to power output and general location.

The last two are interesting. The owner for #3 is the licensee contact for #6... kind of sounds interesting...

The WQGL775 license says:
Quote:
Individual is in the business of providing safety, security and support services to traveling groups. Radios will be leased to Part 90 eligible parties as part of this business endeavor.

IIRC, that guy has a plethora of licenses on itinerant freqs.

ETA- the one you have posted, plus WQFK354, some GMRS crap, and of course a ham license.

http://www.charitycomms.com/ and I now need Jim's rolling eyes smiley icon guy.

This sounds like a good bet since they provide Comms for S & R events. But why the secret squirrel stuff?

My best rolling eyes picture.

Mark can you get a quality recording (say 5 min worth) of the scrambled audio? It would have to be direct from scanner or receiver. Not just a phone recording the speaker. If you can plug the audio from the scanner into an audio recorder that would be ideal...

I may have software that can descramble the audio...

Thanks!

Low band voice inversion?

That means they went out of their way to not be heard...

Wow.
