That's kinda an unfair question. Uniden is still developing their DMR firmware... I will say that it seems like you have to fine tune Uniden to get it to decode 100% on DMR. I don't know if you have to do that on the other. |

Well I ma not sure what a bait and switch means, but Zip's seems to have a decent price. I may order one next week. https://www.zipscanners.com/trx-1-police-scanner.html |

Well, if you think the Whistler scanner is going be perfect and bug-free, then I think you're smoking too much... both scanners are going to take time to become "perfect." The Uniden 436HP is excellent on the Connected Plus system (TRBOWEST) but it's buggy on the Capacity Plus systems... it might just be lack of signal strength but I'm not 100% certain yet. |

I don't know anything about the Whistler scanner and if both scanners will ever become "perfect". My point is that you were comparing one scanner that has it's final firmware released to another scanner which it's beta firmware is being released weekly with major improvements. If your trying to figure out which of the two is better, why not wait until Uniden releases an non-beta "polished" firmware to make an determination... Oh, we live in Seattle...Is there such a thing as "smoking too much"? |

luminoxs wrote: My point is that you were comparing one scanner that has it's final firmware released... You're kidding right? Just because they're shipping the scanners doesn't mean that the DMR decoding is "perfect" or even close. BTW, if you think I'm defending Uniden, you're mistaken. I have no love for Uniden quite frankly. They're both in the same seat and it will take time for both to perfect their DMR firmware. |

Well so far, after perusing several sites and forums, the popular opinion seems to be the Whistler is far more sensitive than the Uniden. Discount, however, the opinions of the guy who went on 4 sites to scream how his was shipped with a scratched display. Someone finally told him to peel off the protective cover and he calmed down. |
