I got a scanner headphone out plugged into a computer line in. The scanner sends a huge DC pop at the beginning of every transmission down the headphone line. Anyone find or build a DC in line block? Or I could fix it in software if I could run the the audio through a (free?) compressor/gate/delay. Anyone know if such a software? thanx |

Radio Shack used to sell isolators with RCA jacks, as well as bare 600 Ohm transformers. |

It probably won't do this on the MIC input... |

Yep it's very possible... most high-end audio isolation units have various amplifier and attenuator features as well... |

Match the impedances and the loss is negligible. A Ratshack 273-1380 (8 ohm to 1000 ohm) transformer will do. Mic input is often >1000 ohms however its close enough to work. Been there/done that many times... I've also used a 600 ohm - 600 ohm transformer with good results. |
