Wife gave me a Motorola XTS3000 to listen to P25. However, unable to read the codeplug. Might be a nice paperweight.

XTS3000 has its own software. You sure you have the right one?

Regular XTS wont work for it.

Using R05.03.00 with the rib and Motorola cable. Radio tones like it is being read then fails. Radio indicates 1-CSQ. Reset and same event.

Alinco DJ-G7 Triband HT

144, 440, 1200 w/wideband receiver 1000 memories in 10 groups. Should be enough...
5 watts on 144 and 440, 1 watt on 1200

Seems pretty good so far but, of course, there is the 'new radio' learning curve. I have the computer programming hard/software. No software for Chirp so had to go with RT Systems. Had to bite the bullet and pay for something... ;)

Not a scanner but an AM, FM & Weather Alert Sangean DT-400W.

Will be used as portable weather alert receiver.

Is your XTS3000 a Model 1, 2, or 3 ?

I can send you a codeplug to try. Although not really considered Kosher in our crowd, sometimes you can simply jam one in via the clone program feature.

I got a NIB (but in reality 20+ year-old) MTS2000 issued on Christmas Eve, does that count?

Just as they are going to take T-band away? You rebel you!

My first radio system was on 508.1625 Lukens and that one around Wilson...

Yeah, it's kind of a last hurrah/hope they petition the govt. to keep it in the large metro areas.

Seeing how long it took rebanding on 800 and narrowbanding on VHF/UHF, I've got plenty of time to enjoy it. It's nice to hear wideband UHF analog in all the small cities down here.

Haha! Yeah, I coerced the big man into taking it away, then signing it over to my trust.

It's actually part of my master plan to then buy up all obsolete t-band gear (on the cheap, mind you), then lease the spectrum (and equipment) back to everyone.
