Greetings,

Has anyone on the board purchased this scanner BCD436HP programmed King County frequencies with the new rebanding.

Question: Were you able to hear all systems using your zip code and range.

I am ready to make the purchase of this scanner.

Thanks

Yes this scanner works fine. The scanner is not magically pre-programmed. You still need to install the Uniden software and connect the 436HP to your computer. Then update the master database file. You then need to upload the latest information to the 436HP. Once this is done then the scanner will have the very latest information from RR.

I don't use the range feature so I cannot tell you how well that works.

Care to elaborate? Are they not working or are you just refraining from using them?

Just not useing them. I am not happy that they cant do what the side of the box that they came in states they can do, I am on my 3rd 536 in less then a year Plus I bought a new desktop, a Dell from Costco for a grand and a 32" Tv to use as a monitor 1080p have it hooked up via HDMI so I have been playing with that more. My PSR-600 is my mine home scanner for now and I use my HP-1 or my PSR-500 for the road. The HP-1 works great with the GPS set up, I have never hooked up the 436 or the 536 to the GPS yet, I was hopeing to put the 536 in the back of what ever car I drive that day and use it via the wifi and control it with my phone, that fuction is not working yet. A very big let down for me.

That sounds like a bad idea. You should be focused on the road, not playing with your phone.

Tim, all I was thinking about was being able to control my scanner with my phone, AKA I get pulled over by the police turn it off with out them seeing it, also I have not been pulled over by the police in over 30 years. the last time I got a ticket was around 1982 or so, I just thought it would be nice to have a scanner that can use wifi, I would just like to see how it works even in the house could be a fun toy and thats where it would sit 99% of the time. Its something that I bought into payed for and I spent well over a grand for the 536 and the 436 and Uniden has yet to deliver, thats my only point here.

I run a BCD436HP. I have it just monitor Seattle Police. I have monitored Full Database around the area. LAW only. and seems to work just fine.

In return, I have a question for you ?

Does anyone know any places around the PacNW that I can take my 436 to in order to have them UPGRADE my speaker. I cant stand the audio quality on the 436 from their "professional" grade speaker

Better question is what would you put in instead?

So I have had my 436HP since April and it had been giving me issues since the Amazon return window expired.

First the speaker died, headphones work so that kept the GF happy. Now I get SD Card errors. The card that came with it works with what ever was programmed but won't take new settings and I can't erase it with Sentinal. Bought 2 new cards first card gave me directory corrupt errors. The second one on a clean Windows 10 install via VMware, worked for a few minutes then I get "SD card Write Error"

I'm ready to cut my losses send it for repair and sell it.
I upgraded from a 386XT so I could get PCSO and the new WSP system.
Will the 325P2 work? What are you guys using?

325P2 will work fine but you should send your 436HP back to Uniden under warranty repair and have them fix the speaker and address the SD card issue. Call them ASAP. Don't let them get away with that crap. If you get it back and it still doesn't work then ask them to swap it for a 325P2. :)

PS. I bought my 436HP early last year and haven't had any issues. I don't use Win10 tho... :P

No idea but it sounds like something was definitely amiss. Good thing you got it serviced.
