So my 536HP will be arriving tomorrow... does anyone have any requests of what they would like to hear about? I'll do a little review anyway but if there's anything specific you'd like to know about it reply to this thread with that request... |

I'm really curious about the bluetooth operation. I would like to see pics, or preferrably a video, of it in action with a tablet or smartphone or whatever you have that can connect via bluetooth. |

And or what BT profiles it supports. Having bluetooth headset support in a scanner has been something I have wanted to see for a long time. |

I just KNEW this would happen. I actually placed my order over a week ago now. Normally, I would have gone through HRO but they didn't have them in stock at the time. Naturally, they now have them in Portland. Now UPS tells me my 536HP is *STUCK* in "Adverse Weather" and there's NO ETA. Grr! |

TMF wrote: I would like to see pics, or preferrably a video, of it in action with a tablet or smartphone There are videos on YouTube of it in operation in case you're curious now. I'll definitely try to do a complete review whenever I receive mine. I'll test it with our local systems here and in particular, I'm curious to see how the X2-TDMA support works and its audio quality. I'll post some audio samples too... Just hoping FreeSCAN gets updated for this model. :) |

Nick - is there any TDMA systems around here to actively listen to? "South Sound" is listed as TDMA Phase II but I don't that system is fully active yet (I could be wrong). The federal systems are all Phase I, as is Boeing from what I see. I thought about also purchasing a 536 but have held off because I didn't see any reason to have one until TDMA rears it's ugly head in some of the systems around here. With my luck everything worth listening to will go encryption or a shuffled band plan - but I'm sure that Sean is not at liberty to say. |

It has Wifi, should work over the interweb, I bought both. should be able to control with a smart phone over the internet. |

nickcarr wrote: Yay! The UPS Gods have woken and my status has been updated to delivery today... woot! Review will come this weekend... Sorry false alarm. The lame UPS MyChoice system falsely told me it was being delivered today. Apparently, the left hand isn't talking to the right hand. Looks like it's on a truck for a Monday delivery. |

Hmm, I swore I saw videos from other users but I guess not. YouTube sucks and I don't even use them as much any more due to their Google+ crap. Anyway, I just learned something tonight. The Wi-Fi module is NOT built-in to the scanner. It's provided by a USB dongle on the back of the scanner. This really sucks because I probably cannot use this feature in a console. I barely had enough room as it was for the power and BNC connectors. I may be able to get around this by using a USB extension cable... but I won't hold my breath. Sorry there won't be any videos of the remote features. The app is not available as yet. |
