I know that in some areas with large amounts of marine traffic the Coast Guard maintains a "marine traffic control center." I also know that Grays Harbor doesn't have near as much traffic as other areas. Is there a frequency that ocean going vessels have to report to before entering or leaving the area? It would be interesting to check them out The other day my wife saw three or four freighter type ships sitting in the water off of Westport. They could have been waiting for the Pilot to take them over the Bar.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you,

There is no VTS out there but if they are going into port, there's a few channels for that
