Just received...

IT'S TIME FOR US TO RETIRE
After 33 years of service to the radio community, Monitoring Times will cease publication with the December, 2013 issue. Subscriptions and renewals for the remaining months can be made by calling (800) 438-8155.

So sorry to hear this. I have every issue since #1 and will miss it greatly.

I guess Grove Enterprises couldn't find anyone good enough to keep it going.

Monitoring Times had a lot of good columns, and often had some really nice articles. I'm surprised that the Groves aren't passing the editor's torch along to keep it going.

If any of you are not familiar with Chris Parris's blog on "Fed Files" for Monitoring Times you are missing out on some excellent information. Right now he has a link there to an interview with Bob Grove who has been the editor of Monitoring Times for 33 years. It is about an hour long and very interesting. Thanks for sharing Chris!

What's left now? Is it just PopComm and WorldRadio?

A bunch of us MT writers and editors have been working on a new, digital magazine project. Taking up where Monitoring Times left off...

Sorry to see it go. I think the scanner crowd was always small and now with the complications of digital & encryption and so much info available on the net, a printed magazine is a hard business model to make successful.
