OK, talking paging systems now...

When I was close to the folks that were in the Telecom department at OHSU in Portland back in the late 1990's there was a FCC mandate to switch off the old 453.125MHz paging frequency and move it to the 929.0375MHz system. No one there at the Telecom department knew of this deadline except me who read it in a CFR book and relayed the info to the management who took steps to begin the RFP and final installation of the new and decommissioning of the old system.

Anyway, in the setup and testing of the new simulcast paging system, I was briefly employed by them and handed a test pager and tested the reception limits with it. I also monitored it and listened in on it. A few times I heard this...never heard it before and since.
