Just download the F/W update application and select the 396XT model. No F/W file needed. http://info.uniden.com/twiki/pub/publis ... _00_01.zip What does it fix you ask? Quote: This update improves performance on APCO Project P25 sites operating in Linear Simulcast Mode (LSM).

Fortunately, I'm talented against programmer incompetence. The only way around it was to use the old updater and use the SCN file. Here's a quickie package with both files to update to the latest firmware. I've done this with my 996XT and it works perfectly. http://home.comcast.net/~k7cj/996xt.zip |
