Intercept DB says KHB60, which is broadcasting at a frequency of 162.55 Megahertz, is on Green Mt. But the NWS says it's on a 100-watt transmitter on Cougar Mountain. Did they move it in the last 4 years? For KHB60 and WWG24 (162.425) "The broadcast originates from the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Seattle." I can hear the .425 uplink on 410.575 but nothing on 416.375 (.55's uplink). |

KHB60 at one time was on Green Mt., say late 70's to early 80's and then was moved to nearby Gold Mt. by about 1984. Looking thru archived monthly minutes on the WWCIC site it looks like the move from Gold to Squak was planned as early as 1997 but did not happen until perhaps late 1998 or early to mid 1999 due to potential interference to Canada. But, WSP's Squak site was having interference from various sources, including KHB60, so by fall of 2000 KHB60 had moved to Cougar. From the Jackson Park area I am hearing the links on 410.575 (and 415.900) for WWG24 as well as the 416.375 link for KHB60. Kerwin |
