scanner call chasing and just being there with your scanner

Post subject:  scanner call chasing and just being there with your scanner
Most people think it's cool chasing scanner calls to see the action
which is agaist the law and it's interfering with police and law enforcements and the fire departments.

now just being there and a inncident starts where you are or even infront of your home our nieghborhood your breaking law
but the police copter or the officer will tell you to back inside the house or go home for saftey .

I see this happen most everytime where I live at
is why i bought my 310.

now the problem is there criminals who buy scanners and this makes it hard on us, and it could cause us to fill out a paper work what is our intent purpose for the scanner.

basic a scanner analog or digital is mainly for our enterainment
nothing more.
the people that chase scanner calls is the newpapers and news medias please don't be like them unless your a media reporter for them ..

1. Show me where it's against the law.
2. I've went to many incidents from chatter I have heard on my scanner and NOT interfered Police, EMS or Fire.

Regardless of the reason for being at an incident. Part of being a responsible and respectful citizen is obeying a peace officer.

Agreed, it can give people like ME (and others) a bad rap. However, people who abuse this privilege are the minority. Not the majority.

Your blanket comments insinuating that people who listen to a scanner and thus cause disruption at the incident scene are absurd. And a bit offensive.
Secondly, going to a scene to watch & observe is NOT against the law. However, interfering at an incident scene can be. Those are two completely separate issues however.

I'm shutting this down early. Part of why I listen is to see stuff. Usually I'm careful, other times I get a killer photo of the Prez. I'm shutting down because your initial premis assumes that we're all not adults...We all are more likely to take advices from someone we know and has shared around here.
