Just a FYI
The rebanding process finally came to Shoreline Fire this week. As of today all of our XTS5000 portables have been reprogrammed and a modified template installed. We are part way in the process of installing new APX6500 mibile radios.
City of Shoreline radios will be next, probably next Monday. Not sure if we were the last department on the list or if someone else is lower on the food chain. Time to think about reprogramming all of our trunking scanners next.

But since the scanners only care about the control channel then we don't have to modify our scanner programming...? (Only if the control channel frequency changes...)

Not necessarily

Has rebanding hit Valley Com yet? I was out of town for a while and when I turned on my BC245xlt there appear to have been some changes. If not rebanding, can anyone advise if some control channels been changed or talk groups changed?

If rebanding hasn't occured, does anyone know when it is scheduled?

Many thanks,

No talkgroups will change as part of the rebanding process. It's possible that some may get added, deleted, or changed around somehow because every single radio has to be touched which makes it a great time to do agency/region-wide reprogramming.

KC/VC is back on its usual 851.8125 right now, but if it's ever silent you should program in one of the alternate control channels. The control channel is switched for a short period of time to conduct periodic maintenance.

Rebanding has multiple steps. The step we are in is the replacement/flash upgrading/reprogramming (adding in the new frequencies) of all mobile and portable radios. This step is estimated to take about 12-18 more months.

The above step must be completed for 5 separate systems (again, we estimate 12-18 more months to complete this as each of the 5 systems are in various states of completion, and some will need to wait while the others "catch up"). Then we can move to the final step which is to change the frequencies of most (almost all) base stations, or repeaters, to the "post rebanding" frequencies.
