Looking to get a new radio and looking for recommendations.

GRE , Uniden or Radio Shack?

Digital or Analog?

Main use KC and SER.

Any input would be appreciated.

I'm real happy with my Uniden BCT 15X ! And I use FREESCAN to Program it.

For a Handheld get a Uniden BC 346XT You will find that it's easier to use and program then the Radio Shack and GRE scanners. But this is a matter of opinion.

Uniden BC346XT
http://www.uniden.com/scanners/bc346xt-portable-compact-handheld-scanner/invt/bc346xtg/

Then use this software to program it.

And if you want to control it via PC / RS232 connection use this. (yes it works on the BC346XT)

I actually have a 346XT that I'm not using and it works perfectly. I have 396XT and PSR800 which keeps me plenty busy. I'll sell it for a good price. If you're interested send me a PM.
