Have you thought about adding a paypal account to the website to help with some of the admin costs ? I'd pitch in a couple bucks. It's the least we can do for you guys. And if you still have some T-Shirts, I'd like to pick one up also. I'll wear it to a System Managers meeting for you. Sean |

Hello Sean and thank you very much for the sincere posting, you have always proven to be a great asset to the community. Rich (spectrum guru) actually built and currently maintains the server behind the Intercept curtain, not to mention hosts the domain. I will leave the idea of monetary assistance up to him, he truly does all of the work. Intercept Northwest t-shirts are still available, although only in size large. I will have another run of x-large in the next few months. $10 shipped to your door if anyone is interested. I could only imagine the reaction at a System Managers meeting, cheers and jeers I'm sure ;). Regards. -Marcus marcus@northwestradio.com |

Sean, So what's the deal? I've been paying Rich $30.00 a month since the board came up. Rich told me that everyone was paying and even made me pay when the board was down. He said that if I didn't pay I would be able to download freq's, but they would all be bogus or CB freq's. I have to think about this.... Marcus promised me something the other day, but now I'm not sure about either on of them. Oh, just to make this post 'legal' here is a scanner post. Family Radio Service F1 is 27.065, F2 is 154.6, F3 is .570 and F4 is 162.425, but I can never get a word in on that one - really busy - Rich told me - remember I paid for it so I know it's true - and I hear traffic on them all the time. I even heard a guy on F1 from the East Coast - he must have been using an amplifer. Man this hobby is fun. 72's (Rich told me that is how 'real' hams sign off that way) -m |

Thanks Sean ! The cost of operation has gone up a little since our recent hosting rearrangement but its still manageable. Our traffic has been steadily increasing so the costs of bandwidth and CPU horsepower might become an issue soon. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. I have also done some major expansion to the online database which put a little more load on the CPU. Mark and I had a prior arrangement (beer for frequencies) however it made more sense to send $30/month due to what UPS was charging to ship two cases of Budweiser from Port Townsend. - Rich |
