Anyone here familiar with a device designed to prep LMR400 (among others) and also had some hand tool that nearly automatically attached the connector and crimped it? It had an option to be attached to a power drill too. It makes this "sssPOP" sound as it does it. I can not for the life of me remember who makes it! It's blue... I remember that much... and they have factory reps local here in the Seattle area or maybe the factory IS here... Errrgh! I can't remember... |

That's pretty darn close. I remember it also had a hand tool portion for attaching and securing the connector after the new prepped assembly had been inserted into the device. That one is at least the first half of the equation, thank you! Really wish I could remember the manufacturer! It was the coolest thing, brand new product when I first saw it about five years ago so maybe the company didn't survive. Kinda pricey and I think it required you use their connectors for the compression fit, but worth it when you're facing a major project with lots of cables as it was so much faster and easier. Would have paid for itself with the saved man hours. |
