old USB to Serial cable was only compatible with XP, and now all my mobile computers are running 7, so I needed a new cable. Kawamall has always been good--quick shipping from Kansas or something, but being cheap, I sought out to find a less expensive cable. Cybersours' cable came to the top of the cheap list.
Payment sent on Nov 19, 2010. Kinda forgot about it, and after not receiving it by December 2 (that's 13 days), I sent the seller a message. No response. The seller also did not enter the tracking number into eBay's system, so for all I know, the seller took my money and ran.
December 4, the cable arrives. Seller purchased delivery confirmation, so I scanned that and looked up the history. Seller purchased postage on Nov 19, however it didn't enter USPS' system until November 30th! Of course the next four days was USPS getting it from New York to here, which is
a day longer than it should have taken, but I won't blame the seller for that.
Got it, and the cable looks alright.
The auction description states the package will include the cable and a driver CD. Guess which one isn't included? Another message goes to the seller, and again goes ignored. After finding it again underneath a pile of stuff on my desk, I remembered that it still isn't working and decide the only way to get the seller's attention is to file a claim. It does. His response:

the CD driver can no be shipped by usps service
:bsflag:
My response: "So how am I supposed to install the drivers?"
Next message comes back with links to download the drivers. Turns out it's the generic Prolific drivers, but STILL!
Funny how Kawa can send CDs in the mail but this guy can't. Found the link to report the seller to eBay and hopefully they'll do something. Looking at the seller's feedback, it looks like this isn't the first time this has happened.
