I got a $45 HP t5710 ThinClient and a $40 LCD monitor off of eBay and after enough meandering through XP Embedded and fighting with the limitations of the unit, I got Pro96Com installed on it and running. I am noticing a few problems with the software. First, everytime I do anything with the mouse or computer (minimixe/maximize a window for example) the receive rate shown on the screen goes up clear to 400% sometimes and then back to 0% before finally going back to it's orignal, true receive rate. I let it sit, open another window or move the one I have open around, same astronomical, exponential rate of change in receive signal percentage. Secondly, I had affilations and stuff in the log and minimized the window or saved or something and went back to review and everything was gone out of every log. (Yes, I hit save of course before I did anything and what I had was saved, but the fact that everything disappeared out of the logs pisses me off.)

If this a hardware problem or one with XP embedded or one with the software? I've never had a problem before utlilizing my 7 machine with a USB-Serial converted to run Pro96Com. My goal is to upgrade the RAM, upgrade the Flash Memory Module and put a clean install of XP, not XP embedded, on it.

What do you think?

I think the T5710 would be much better suited as an audio feed appliance. Pro96com would probably run better on an older retired laptop or netbook.

Does it have Task Manger on it? Pull it up and watch the memory and CPU usage.

Memory stays pretty consistent. CPU hovers around 75% with Pro96Com running and only really spikes to about 90-95% when I click the mouse on something or open and close a window. Receive rate on the other hand in the program...goes from 0 to 200, sometimes 400% before finally returning back to the real receive rate of about 85%. The software also has 150.200 as a control channel. :bsflag:

Bug with XPe or bug with computer hardware?

I was stupid enough to get a ThinClient with only a 800 MHz processor and 256 MB or RAM and 256 MB of flash memory. My compulsive shopping screwed me over again.
