New race scanner

This racing Scanner is probably their version of the new RS model PRO-444.
The RS scanner has signal stalker,1000 channels and says 25 to 1300MHz.

This radio includes coverage of the new 700 MHz band, new 380 MHz federal band and has upgradable CPU firmware in support of future rebanding.

Someone want to tell me what the hell the point of this radio is, since the 380 and 700 areas are DIGITAL, and this scanner DOESN'T do digital???

Keep buying analog-only radios, pogues...And keep your heads in the sand while you're at it. If they don't extend it, 2013 is going to be a big shock.

1) You can listen to the control channels and see if you can tell a difference between them. I can tell the difference between Grass Mountain and Valleycom by sound. Not a useful skill, but a skill nonetheless.

2) D-tap it and decode the control channel information that way. Or spend a couple extra hundred and get something with packet output.
