The tin foil hatters are going crazy because allegedly this signal has stopped transmitting. Conspiracy theorists conspire that its part of the "Dead Hand" system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Hand_ ... ear_war%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UVB-76 Afaik there is no official explanation as to the purpose of this shortwave radio station, anybody have any thoughts ? Wow, I never realized there was so much goofy speculation about the purpose of that transmitter. Its a military beacon used for field units to determine whether an HF path exists to their location. It is probably headed toward obsolescence in favor of satellite technology. |

Wow...I read over some of the schlock on that "Above Top Secret" site....Just wow. I always suspected that the number of people truly "off their meds" was higher than I knew. Now I have proof. |
