It quit working.
Dumped the memory, and continues to. All zero's.
Dammit, now I have a valid excuse to purchase a replacement.

It was a modern, state of the art 200xlt.
Vintage 1990.

The 200xlt uses a capacitor as a power source to retain the memory when its turned off. Perhaps it needs a new capacitor if you think its worth the effort.

It was plugged/ on when it did this.
it just 'zeroed' out. I punched in a known busy freq, then it zeroed again.
Oh well... It served.

that stinks... what if you leave the batts off for a while and see if it resets .. as rich mentioned the old ratshacks had issues with capacitors sometimes I have one that still will bonk out and do that I leave it unpluged for a week and it will come back to life its my wsp radio .. pain to reprogram!

then you can modify it and get CELLULAR FREQUENCY and hack the phones.

I did this with a pro 2004 back in the late 80's.
It was boring then.
I had more fun with the 49mhz baby monitors.
I think I'll bust it open and wiggle stuff around.
