"Map Search" gives you an option to see the FCC listings for each county. It will now break the FCC listings down by city and by default will skip any Nextel listings. This has greatly improved the performance.

How about a state/county/city picker like the one for the database search? The page now is huuuuge.

And unless I'm doing something wrong, I see a lot of Nextel listings. And I can hang the server if I click on a WPCN22* listing.

Map doesn't appear to be working for anything I've been clicking here's just one example.

Many show no frequencies: example; compare to.

Also, would there be any way to list the licensee on fcc_call.php?

That's enough complains to keep you occupied for a few more hours :|

The FCC Map Search lets you select by state/county/city.

Interesting. I'm not seeing any from the FCC Map Search. What state/county/city are you clicking on ?

I'll look into this. I haven't seen the server hang on any query, though some browsers take a while to digest some of the larger queries.

Works fine for me when map is selected.
http://interceptradio.com/fcc.php?z=1&sfreq=4&scall=WQAP228&cfreq=1&cstate=1&ccounty=1&ccity=1&cpl=1&ccall=1&cchan=1&cmap=1

What method did you use to generate that url ?

I believe that is a garbage in / garbage out issue. There are a few instances of this. Its on the back burner for now.

I believe all that information is already available from the state/county/city FCC Map Search.

I clicked "Map Search" and at the bottom of the page FCC City List. Now I see that if you click a state and then county and then the tiny FCC link it looks a lot better. And it shows just how much garbage the FCC has in their database (i.e. "Washon Island").

This was the list I was looking at, but after seeing the above method I won't use that any more.

That works great.

This is fantastic Rich. Never mind a few bugs. I have found so much new stuff today that my head is spinning. Thanks so much for your hard work. It really made my day

Glad you like it. This is a cool tool. I've been browsing all sorts of stuff with it this evening. Perhaps I'll find some ways to further expand its functionality.

Maybe something like this?

http://www.onebusaway.org/where/standard/index.html
Zoom in to some area in King County; about 1 mile or less across.
Click "Search for stops in this area".
Click one of the green arrows.

But instead of displaying routes, show licenses and other confirmed data from the database.

This is actually kind of a dangerous tool. I have work to do, but instead I'm going to be playing around with the FCC DB and the mapping.

That is a good idea. Perhaps this is one for the to-do list.

I made some performance improvements to the county map FCC search. It should be much faster now.
