ye aI was reading that this morning, kinda cool kinda not. looks like someone just leaked the data, as it seems very odd that 1) if this had been a hobbiest it would have come out years ago 2) its not 'simple' to collect data from every carrier effectively so that takes out the idiots so this looks like some odd bit of data that was just leaked by what ever reason to do what ever reason was intended for the leak, or unclassification of the original data to allow it to leak. IMO |

Post subject: | Half a million pager intercepts leaked. |
http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/11/25/septem ... index.html Wikileaks has put on their website (site is down of this posting) half a million pager intercepts as they call it. My question would be, where did they get these pager intercepts ? They are from both personal pagers, aswell as government pager. Is it possible that a private party was able to pickup this many pager messages in a day ? If it was the government how could this be legal ? |

Seems a bit too much data to be logged by one person, is there any software available that would be able to handle that much data coming in so fast ? half a million in a day would overload any software that is publicly available im sure. |

Wikileaks is acting up right now. The old DOS "PD" software would log incoming data to disk until it ran out of drive space. I would suspect other software would do the same. |
