Hey there gang,

A buddy "Nickcarr" from radio forum told me I should join here.

I am a prior service military veteran/combat vet. I currently do retail security. Ive been an avid scanner user since probably I was in the 7th grade. Started on some rink-a-dink radio shack 10 channel 512mhz scanner way back in the day. Now days I run dual box BCD436HP on left side of desk and BCD396XT on right side of the desk. Mostly only monitor Seattle Police. For me and my attention span, thats all I need for entertainment. Usually on fire calls, SPD will get dispatched for fire control. Etc. So I almost never miss those big fire events. I also have a slightly damaged BCD296 on classifieds if anyone has a need for Mr Fix-it jobs. I live in Seattle and work in Seattle. If im staying in the city I will leave my 436 at home, but if I venture out it comes with me, along with batteries.

My newest, latest scanner acquisition: (wait for it) A pristine, with all accessories, paperwork, the plastic baggies all the accessories (DC power cord and telescoping whip antenna) came in, and even the BOX... Thus, a "brand-spanking new, secondhand used Realistic PRO 2003 (!) Should go great with the SBE "optiscan" 12SM ;) or the Bearcat 101.........

Anyone still using any "rockboxes"??? Or, for more insanity, what does one monitor with one's "rockbox"??? Are there any old Regency M100's or "turboscanners" kicking around that are in your collection and NOT collecting dust? Or for that matter a Bearcat 210? So what's the coolest "old school" scanner out there???

I still have a Pro-94 kicking around that I use for it's discriminator tap, but nothing else. That radio couldn't be "cool" even if it was in a freezer.
