Do Motorola trunked systems not have TX inhibit so people can't walk over each other?

Supposed to. If your part of a group you should not be able to key the radio if someone else in your group has the floor. If they both come up at the same time I don't know how the system would decode them.

It's an officer safety issue. If an LEO or Fire needs helps now, they don't have to wait for the air to be clear. If they do walk over each other, the dispatcher just tells that unit to standby.

The particular system I was listening to is licensed for only one repeater location. Would be interesting to see what that would sound like with voters.
