Someone brought up a old thread here, from 2 years ago, lets not go off the rails here , or I am off base here. Most of you know who I am and I have never reposted any info from this site, and that is a fact.and my join date should look like 2004. i was a member back in the BBS days here, long before this site is what it is. back then my PC would call your PC with a 600 Baud modem, It would take what you would think now days as a lifetime to share info, but back then was fast. back then it was all about getting the info out there. the copy right thing did not even play into it, it was just a matter of getting the info out there. now this is my info, not yours, I guess I am just a old fart, you kids play nice.....

Ken, nobody is accusing you of stealing stuff off Intercept.

The problem is that your cohort Steve Scott, KD7KDC has copied material off the Intercept database, mistakes and all,
and put them in their database. That material is sold to some of the scanner makers and scanner retailers for a profit.
The people on Intercept have gone to a great deal of effort and also in some cases paid for this information.
The frequencies are public knowledge but their usage, channel numbering, tones and other related information were supplied by our members. It seems to me that it is quite obvious this material should not be copied and put on another web site without the permission of the owner of Intercept.

And yes, you may be an old fart but not as old as I am. :bowrofl:

We should be old enough to know that this is not the proper way to promote our hobby.

I'm glad Ken.

We need to respect each others web sites.

Both have a great deal of information for all those with an interest

in the broad field of communications monitoring.
