LAPD still uses a Citywide Channel to broadcast "Hot Calls". (F-21) 484.7125 (R) P25. The old VHF Tac-1 - 154.83 KMA-367 is no longer simul-cast. Orange County SO - Control 1 - Still uses a Countywide (RED) Channel / Talkgroup to broadcast hot calls to all Law agencies. Are there any other agencies using a "talkgroup" or Channel for such broadcasts ???

Flathead Co MT uses 155.790 to broadcast BOLO and interop to local agencies and MHP

It goes back to the day where there was that conveyer belt deal with major dispatch centers where if there was a major life threatening incident in progress (shooting, assault, rape, etc) the calltaker would run it right over to the radio dispatcher for it to be read immediately.

Gotcha. So, if they don't do that currently, how are those urgent calls routed now?

With the advent of the Office Work station tied to a main computer -- Dispatchers and call takers are connected directly in "real time" without needing to have information routed by some "punch card" or "Ticket". However -- in large cities or counties - Detectives as well as field patrol units can roam from area to area - and also need "real time crime activity from a larger area than just a single "beat area". "Hot Calls" are wide area broadcasts of a crime in progess. Large cities like LA - have special citywide units that respond to these "in progress" calls.
