so wireless mic can operate on 50mhz-800mhz and just about anywhere in between

your gonna need a directional antenna and point it at an officer haha. funny sight.

you also are going to need to know a brand the department uses which will help you locate your frequency to more then "all of the VHF spectrum"

you might also start this experiment with a city north of seattle that uses this equipment a lot.

Narrow Band. Some analog - most digital. Most of the frequencies in the 173 mhz band are indeed used for remote control purposes - however - these specific users are for wireless mics and not remote control or telemetry. See station WRB-424, Asotin County Sheriff.
