Location: At the Foot Of Mt Rainier!
Looking to replace my BC 780xlt, live in south king county
listen to and would like to listen to King County Trunked, Pierce County Trunked, Forest Service, etc...
any feedback on which is better Uniden BCD996xlt or GRE PSR-600???
I take my base with me sometimes with a mobile antenna, but I am looking for a base unit.

I have both the PSR600 and BCD996XT. For general scanning I'd recommend the BCD996XT because the display text height and width is much more readable especially in the car. Another bonus is there is free programming software available for it and you can interface a GPS to it. The PSR600 is also a good radio. Its display is harder to read in the car but it has some advanced features that make up for it. For what you are doing you would probably be happier with the BCD996XT.

I'm a Uniden fan. There'll be a learning curve from 780 to XT, you're stuck with that either way.
