Just finished a stint at Icom, testing the IDAS system.
The TSR has been my office for many days, what can I say, everyone there is really cool. Big thanks to Greg, Harry, Mark, Carl and Mike.

Sorry about knocking D-STAR offline. I needed to check my email, and your cat-5 was calling my name

Looking forward to the implementation of this system, very grateful to be involved.

-Marcus

NXDN is a Common Air Interface that was developed jointly by Icom and Kenwood
NXDN is implemented by Icom as IDAS system.
NXDN is implemented by Kenwood as NEXEDGE

NXDN is interesting, but however, not too long ago I played with MotoTRBO equipment and I was impressed. MotoTRBO at least is based upon ETSI specs (with the usual small deviations that Motorola does)

According to the info I get every Sunday...

Motorola MOTOTRBO radios. These cannot be monitored.
Kenwood NEXEDGE radios. These cannot be monitored.

At least with the interface specs from ETSI about MotoTRBO, its no much harder than decoding P25, except, there's the issue of the two audio streams at once from a repeater, but that can be dealt with.

Just IDAS. Got to tinker with the interface for the D-star repeaters a bit, since they are also in the TSR.

I hope to get some after hours testing in. :)

Nope, not at this time. Right now it's just contract work, hopefully that will change soon.
