I guess it's all in your personal desires. My primary interest is in Seattle Fire and Seattle PD. I have two scanners monitoring each but the banks are set selected differently. For example, on fire I have one bank that just stays on dispatch and Seattle EOC. The second fire scanner is for all the other fire talkgroups excluding dispatch and EOC. The police scanners are set up so one just listens to the dispatch and tac talkgroups and the other listens to all the other SPD talkgroups. I have three other trunked scanners that I can select up anything else on with regards to the Seattle trunked system-like I lock one or two onto an active working fire or working TAC operation. And an old FRG-9600 and PRO-2004 that are ready to get anything else I want to listen to that is non-trunked, like WSP. The heavy work is done with two BC780's and two GRE-600's and there is another GRE-600 on the way which will be dedicated to P-25 stuff. I also run three comptuers - with five 18" LCD monitors. One monitor watches AIS, one is on the Internet, one displays data files for all the SFD and SPD units, one is on Trunker and the other one monitors whatever else I want to watch including a camera system I have here so I can keep an eye on the cats and raccons in the yard. I use the NCS audio combiner and record with either tape or ScanRec. But I'm looking for at least a two channel computer based recording system right now. And on the other side of the room...
