This one on Leno tonight:

Dispatch: "We just got a call from a resident wo said he's being held hostage in a vehicle in front of 121 Allen Street. Uh, he described the car as a Ford sedan, 4-door, color white. Said he's in the back seat, can't get out, and the people were returning to the vehicle. Uh, he called in on a cell phone to us."
Officer: "Yeah, thanks, just be advised he's in the back of a police cruser."
Dispatch: "OK... thank you very much!"

From my personal (hidden) blog, when I was working in AK:

Quote:
12/12/04

Time- 0210
Get a call from an unknown male requesting assistance. Enroute we get an update that a man was possibly stabbed in the head there. Code 3. We get there to find 2 older (intoxicated) males bleeding from their heads. Neither were able to articulate what had happened. The story from the other people in the house is that these 2 guys were found this way when they came in. A little investigation reveals that both males had been betting each other who could break the most plates on their foreheads. Doh. EMS transported both to the hospital for care.

Time- 0416
Received another call from the 0210 location. This time an intoxicated male reports his daughter beat him up. Contacted a highly intoxicated daughter, who refused to give us any info. A slightly intoxicated cousin tells us there had been a verbal argument between father and daughter. Father admits he called 911 to get his daughter thrown out. Nope, she lives there. He calls 911 back in front of us, and tells dispatch that there are 3 men with guns in his house, all wearing blue, and he's being held hostage for his alcohol. Goodbye.

I've got a Wal-Mart store going up in my back yard as we speak. It's great listening to those Construction workers swear like sailors because someone left the keys for the backhoe in the office trailer or because those "fu$%# masons are leaving garbage everywhere." 464.550 (82.5)

What I find to be the best thing about radio is people talk like nobody is listening.

I went to the mall the other day and some store, unknown which (464.550 (67.0)) a male employee was talking to a female employee about "holding her close to his heart." I wanted to wave the :bsflag: but couldn't do it legally nor did I know where to go.

I hate to dig this up, but it's such a great thread...

While listening to the Wal-Mart Construction workers tear up the airwaves, the following conversation ensued: (they have nicknames for themselves Scooter is a worker and Q is a foreman)

Q: Scooter, PUT THAT FIRE OUT, PUT THAT FIRE OUT!!!
several minutes pass...
Q: Scooter, what was that?
Scooter: Oh, it was the AC pump in the HVAC unit
Q: Oh, but you got it out right?
Scooter: Yea.
several minutes pass....
Scooter: (sings) "They call me the Fireman, that's my name..."
Q: Easy there William Hung...
Scooter: (sings) "She Bangs, She Bangs, oh baby..."

Give us more, give us more!! This sounds like the stuff we talked about when I drove a truck for PUget Sound truck lines, I often wondered if anyone was listening in the Whatcom County area. If they were, Im sure they got a good laugh!

If I had to listen to those knuckleheads all day my radio would be in the 'off' mode.
